Mission and Vision

The University of Crete Research Center for the Humanities, Social and Education Sciences (UCRC) is an interdisciplinary research unit of the University of Crete and is based in Rethymno. UCRC hosts research laboratories and research groups as well as collaborating researchers, who carry out research in cutting-edge fields in the Humanities, Social and Education Sciences. The members of UCRC maintain close collaborations with esteemed research and academic institutions in Greece and abroad.

The mission of UCRC is to promote high-quality research, innovation and excellence in Humanities, Social and the Education Sciences. In this context, UCRC supports interdisciplinary research, knowledge transfer, application of new technologies, researchers’ mobility, synergies with national and international institutions/organizations, dissemination of scientific knowledge and cooperation with society.

The primary aim of UCRC is its national and international recognition as a pioneering interdisciplinary and inclusive research unit of the University of Crete, in which research of high social and economic added value is carried out.
